Small Talk Pediatric Therapy is a family-centered pediatric therapy clinic serving children and families throughout Meridian and the Treasure Valley. Our multidisciplinary team provides speech, occupational and physical therapy through individualized, play-based care.
We believe therapy should be purposeful, engaging and tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where children can build confidence, independence and the everyday skills they need to participate more fully at home, at school and in their community.

Role Description
Small Talk Pediatric Therapy is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team.
The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat children with a variety of developmental, sensory, motor and functional needs. This role works closely with children, families and other members of the therapy team to create individualized treatment plans that support greater participation and independence in everyday activities.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, values collaboration and understands how to make therapy engaging and meaningful through play.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy evaluations.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on each child’s strengths, needs and family goals.
- Provide evidence-based treatment to support fine-motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-regulation and functional independence.
- Support children with everyday activities such as dressing, feeding, handwriting, utensil use, play and participation in routines.
- Address gross-motor coordination, motor planning, bilateral coordination and body awareness as appropriate within the occupational therapy scope of practice.
- Use purposeful play, crafts, sensory activities, movement and daily routines to make therapy engaging and developmentally appropriate.
- Educate parents and caregivers on practical strategies and activities they can use at home.
- Communicate evaluation results, progress and recommendations clearly and compassionately with families.
- Maintain timely, accurate and compliant documentation, including evaluations, treatment notes and progress reports.
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, physicians, educators and other professionals involved in the child’s care.
- Participate in team meetings, continuing education and clinic initiatives.
- Maintain a safe, organized and welcoming therapy environment.
- Follow all clinic policies, professional standards and patient privacy requirements.
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on family-centered, high-quality care.
Qualifications Required
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Idaho Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain Idaho licensure.
- NBCOT certification or eligibility to complete applicable certification requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with children, families and team members.
- Strong clinical judgment, organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and within required timelines.
- Commitment to individualized, ethical and evidence-based pediatric care.
- Ability to complete all required background checks and employment screenings.
- Experience developing home programs and educating parents or caregivers.
