Job Summary:
The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are cleaned and properly stored. This role supports the kitchen and front-of-house staff by keeping a steady supply of clean dishware available during service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashers or by hand.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing station, including sinks, dish racks, and surrounding areas.
- Ensure all dishware and utensils are properly sanitized and stored.
- Dispose of trash and food waste following health and safety regulations.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and take out the garbage as needed.
- Assist with basic kitchen prep or other tasks as directed by kitchen staff.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain organization of cleaning supplies and restock as necessary.
- Report any damaged or broken dishware or equipment to management.
- Assist in closing duties, including deep cleaning tasks and ensuring all dishes are stored properly.
