This role is part of Blue Origin Valves Operations, which is the team responsible for ensuring reliable control of fluid and gas systems across engines and vehicles. This specific position supports quick disconnect valves used throughout Blue Origins products.
The successful candidate will manage the demand signals and material availability required to sustain production entry rates across assigned product lines, ensuring parts are in place before work begins and that flow through the production line is uninterrupted. This individual will serve as the day-to-day production control presence on the floor — partnering directly with shift leaders and managers to identify and resolve constraints before they impact exit rates. This is a "hands-on computer and feet on floor" role well suited for someone early in their production control or supply chain career who is eager to develop deep expertise in hardware flow within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and managing demand signals to ensure material availability aligns with planned production entry rates for quick disconnect valve and umbilical product lines
- Tracking work-in-progress (WIP) status across assigned product lines; communicating part availability, schedule risks, and constraint status to shift leaders and managers in real time
- Preparing and releasing work orders in the ERP system aligned to the production schedule; reconciling and closing orders upon completion
- Maintaining floor stock levels and kitting accuracy for assigned build lines; coordinating replenishment to prevent line stoppages
- Expediting shortages and coordinating with procurement, receiving, and quality to resolve part discrepancies and hold material in a timely manner
- Supporting shift leaders and managers in ensuring smooth workflow across the production line — identifying bottlenecks, flagging capacity constraints, and escalating unresolved issues appropriately
- Entering material transactions in the ERP system — issues, transfers, receipts, and consumption — maintaining transaction accuracy and audit trail
- Participating in cycle counts and assisting in inventory discrepancy resolution for assigned areas
- Supporting exit rate performance by coordinating interdepartmental activity to keep jobs moving through the production sequence on schedule
- Coordinating with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, and engineering to resolve day-to-day material and scheduling issues
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in production control, supply chain, inventory management, or manufacturing operations — or a completed degree in a related field in lieu of experience
- Familiarity with MRP concepts and ERP-based work order or inventory transactions
- Ability to read and interpret bills of material (BOMs) and basic engineering documentation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple open items simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively with production teams on the manufacturing floor
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Basic proficiency in computers for tracking, analysis, and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related discipline
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (White Belt or higher); familiarity with 5S, kaizen, or value stream mapping
- Experience supporting production entry and exit rate tracking in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with aerospace or precision hardware manufacturing processes
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Plex, or similar
- Exposure to quick disconnect valve, fluid systems, or umbilical hardware manufacturing or assembly
