Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Jobsite Equipment Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy construction machinery and equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality project execution. Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers (dozers), loaders, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling equipment with precision and safety awareness
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Assist with utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or drilling activities commence
- Support construction activities such as paving, grading, backhoe operations, and water truck management to meet project specifications
- Coordinate with team members and site supervisors to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to project timelines
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety checks for accountability and compliance
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling rigs
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on construction equipment
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure longevity and safe operation
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and ability to implement safety procedures consistently
- Skilled in utility locating techniques to prevent underground utility damage during excavation or drilling operations
- Valid driving license with experience in commercial driving environments
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety regulations and heavy equipment operation skills
- Physically fit: can climb up and down equipment, trenches and hilly terrain. Ability to lift 50 pounds with no issues to your body
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
