Position Overview
Lion Logistics Group is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Operations Supervisor to serve as the right hand to the Operations Manager. This role combines administrative responsibilities with operational support in the field, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both office work and being actively involved in daily operations.
The Operations Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring routes run efficiently, drivers are supported, customer expectations are exceeded, and operational issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Manager with day-to-day business operations.
- Assist with dispatching, routing, and schedule adjustments.
- Provide driver support and serve as a point of contact during routes.
- Conduct ride-alongs, route coverage, and emergency deliveries as needed.
- Step into driving responsibilities when coverage gaps arise.
- Monitor route performance, service levels, and operational metrics.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new drivers.
- Maintain DOT compliance records and driver qualification files.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs.
- Handle administrative duties including reporting, payroll support, and documentation.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns and service issues.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and operational processes.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in logistics, transportation, delivery operations, or fleet management preferred.
- Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Comfortable using technology, spreadsheets, and operational software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to operate company vehicles.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions when necessary.
Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call availability may be required to support operational needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary of $68,000 - $75,000, based on experience.
