Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Daycare Cook to join our vibrant childcare team! Duties
- Prepare and cook balanced, kid-friendly meals and snacks following approved menus and dietary guidelines
- Plan menus that incorporate diverse, nutritious ingredients suitable for children’s dietary needs
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, blenders, and food processors efficiently and safely
- Handle food production for high-volume meal service while maintaining quality and consistency
- Adhere strictly to recipe specifications, portion control, and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including proper sanitizing of surfaces, utensils, and equipment after each shift
Requirements
- Previous dietary aide experience or food service experience in a childcare or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods
- Skilled in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with culinary techniques including knife skills and high-volume food preparation
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety standards
