Position Overview
- Start Date: Immediate
- End Date: June 2027 (with possible spring break and summer opportunities)
- Compensation: $24.00/hour
- Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
- Typical Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days/week
- Typical Shift: 1:00 PM–6:30 PM (12:45 PM start on Wednesdays)
- Hours: 26–28 hours/week
- Locations: Placement at one elementary or middle school site in Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, El Sobrante, or Oakland

A Day in the Life
Group Leaders are the heartbeat of the program—the familiar face students count on every single afternoon. Here's what your day looks like:
- Lead and supervise your own group of roughly 15–20 students
- Guide students through homework time, hands-on enrichment, and active play
- Design and deliver activities that spark curiosity and build collaboration
- Build a space where every child feels welcomed, respected, and included
- Track daily attendance while keeping the group engaged from start to finish
- Partner closely with your site team to keep routines strong and quality high
- Model the patience, positivity, and integrity you want students to carry forward
Who Thrives in This Role
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- 48 completed college units or a passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam (we'll help you prepare if you need to take it)
- Ability to clear DOJ/FBI background checks
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire (we cover the cost)

- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities
- Must occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
- Frequent bending & standing
- Able to walk for long periods of time
- Visual ability to clearly monitor activities in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Mobility to quickly respond to emergencies
