Overview: The Senior Microsoft 365 Cloud Specialist will serve as a senior technical resource supporting a federal Microsoft enterprise environment.
This position will provide advanced administration, configuration, troubleshooting, security, identity management, compliance support, and tenant governance across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Azure.
The selected candidate may be identified as Key Personnel in a federal proposal and must be available to support the anticipated contract start.
This is a hands-on senior cloud administration role. It is not a traditional help desk position or a Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform development position.
Mandatory Certifications
The candidate must possess at least one certification in each category at the time of submission.
Category 1 - Microsoft Administration Certification - The candidate must hold at least one current Microsoft administration certification, such as:
· Microsoft 365 Administrator Associate
· MS-102 or its current replacement
· Azure Administrator Associate
· AZ-104 or another current Microsoft Azure administration certification
Category 2 - Microsoft Security or Identity Certification - The candidate must also hold at least one current Microsoft security or identity certification, such as:
· SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator
· SC-200 Security Operations Analyst
· SC-100 Cybersecurity Architect
· AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer
· Another current Microsoft security or identity certification
Microsoft fundamentals certifications, including AZ-900, MS-900, and SC-900, do not satisfy the mandatory certification requirements.
Expired certifications will not be accepted.

Key Responsibilities
· Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
· Support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related Microsoft 365 services.
· Conduct tenant health reviews, configuration assessments, and Microsoft service-health analysis.
· Review and manage Microsoft Entra ID identity and access controls.
· Configure and support Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, privileged roles, emergency access accounts, access reviews, logging, and alerts.
· Assess cloud security configurations and identify configuration or security gaps.
· Develop remediation plans and supporting documentation for security and compliance reviews.
· Support Microsoft Purview records management, retention, auditing, and compliance capabilities.
- Support Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Secure Score, and related security or endpoint-management tools.
- Support governance and data-security reviews associated with Microsoft 365 Copilot and related artificial intelligence capabilities.
- Diagnose and resolve cloud incidents, service outages, access issues, configuration problems, and security events.
- Coordinate escalations with Microsoft and other technical resources.
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration records, recommendations, and change records.
- Participate in quarterly planning, backlog prioritization, transition activities, and knowledge transfer.
- Work with project managers, business analysts, developers, security personnel, and federal stakeholders.
- Follow established change-management and production-approval procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, or related Microsoft cloud environments.
- Recent senior-level responsibility for Microsoft cloud administration and tenant operations.
- Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft Entra ID or Azure Active Directory.
- Experience configuring identity, authentication, access-management, and privileged-access controls.
- Experience troubleshooting Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID incidents and configuration issues.
- Experience supporting Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related Microsoft cloud services.
- Experience producing technical documentation, operating procedures, recommendations, or compliance evidence.
- Ability to independently manage assigned technical activities.
- Ability to work effectively with government, enterprise, technical, and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain organized and responsive during service incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting a federal Microsoft tenant.
- Experience supporting state government, healthcare, financial services, or another regulated environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender, Sentinel, Secure Score, or cloud-security baselines.
- Experience responding to security directives, audit findings, or compliance assessments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot governance and data-protection requirements.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365, Dataverse, or Power Platform integrations.
- ITIL, CompTIA Security+, or related operational or cybersecurity certification.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, ticketing systems, and formal change-management processes.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
Relevant technical experience and certifications may be considered in place of a degree.
