POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanic is responsible for successfully promoting and upholding the company’s Core Values (WIN WORK, ACHIEVE RESULTS, BE FULFILLED) with their team and clients. This mid-level mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining the company’s light construction equipment and light-to-medium duty vehicles. The Mechanic II performs diagnostics, hydraulic system repairs, engine work, and preventive maintenance while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various types of construction equipment and light-to-medium duty vehicles.
- Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in equipment and vehicles and determine the appropriate method of repair.
- Perform repairs on diesel and gasoline powered engines.
- Repair and rebuild hydraulic systems on construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems.
- Perform minor welding and fabrication repairs (MIG).
- Proficiently operate various types of diagnostic equipment and scanners.
- Perform quality preventive maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Accurately document all parts and labor on work orders using fleet management software (e.g., Dossier).
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Follow all company, state, and federal safety guidelines and regulations.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.
MUST HAVE — REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic in the fleet, heavy equipment, or construction industry.
- Must have necessary mechanic tools to perform job duties.
- Must have knowledge of basic vehicle preventive maintenance techniques.
- Must have the ability to diagnose and test for malfunctions in motor vehicles and construction equipment.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems.
- Must have the ability to interpret manuals and schematics.
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when necessary.
- Pass the company’s Driver Approval Process required.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Pass mandatory employment drug test required.
- Must be able to read and write in English and/or Spanish at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete required documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
NICE TO HAVE — PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- SMAW and MIG welding certification.
- ASE certification (T-Series or A-Series).
- Experience with diagnostic software (e.g., CAT ET, Cummins INSITE).
- CDL Class A or B license.
- Experience working on both on-road vehicles and off-road construction equipment.

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
