Duties
- Safely transport, unload, and position office furniture and fixtures at client sites using hand tools and power tools.
- Assemble, install, and secure furniture components such as desks, cabinets, shelving units, and modular systems according to schematics and blueprints.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation instructions to ensure accurate setup.
- Use construction estimating skills to assess site requirements and plan installation procedures efficiently.
- Perform finishing tasks including caulking, trim carpentry, drywall repair, and touch-up painting to ensure a polished final appearance.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to coordinate installation schedules and address site-specific challenges.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris responsibly, and adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, levels, and measuring tapes; experience with power tools like drills and saws preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods including framing, metal stud framing, drywall finishing, and flooring installation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise installations.
- Experience with carpentry disciplines such as trim carpentry, cabinet installation, door hanging, and woodwork fabrication.
- Familiarity with construction estimating techniques for planning project scope and materials needed.
- Knowledge of various construction industry practices including rebar installation, concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding, stucco application, and water damage restoration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex assembly or restoration projects.
- Background in restoration industry tasks such as mold remediation or water damage repair is a plus.
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety standards; familiarity with schematics for fixture installation or electrical work is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience for troubleshooting onsite issues quickly and effectively.
