Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency, adhering to established recipes and standards
- Lead food production efforts during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of high-volume orders while maintaining quality and presentation
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food safety sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on seasonal ingredients or customer feedback
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and knife skills to ensure efficient teamwork
- Manage food inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste through effective portion control and storage practices
- Uphold food safety management protocols at all times to guarantee a safe dining environment for staff and guests
Skills
- Extensive dietary department experience combined with dietary aide experience is highly desirable
- Proven expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and high-volume production environments
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards including food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations
- Skilled in various cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and meal preparation for catering or restaurant settings
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to execute precise cuts and prep work efficiently
- Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments that demand attention to detail and quality control
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in supervising kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and serving protocols in a fast-paced culinary setting
