Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Solar Electrician Technician to join our dynamic renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting photovoltaic (solar) systems across various sites. Your expertise will help drive the transition to sustainable energy solutions while ensuring safety and compliance with electrical standards. Duties
- Install photovoltaic systems on residential, commercial, and industrial rooftops, batteries and ground-mounted sites, following detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system setup.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on solar power systems, identifying issues with high voltage and low voltage components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and safety equipment to complete electrical wiring, fixture installation, and system connections safely and efficiently.
- Conduct electrical safety procedures in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70E standards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Verify system performance through testing and commissioning, ensuring all components operate according to specifications.
- Collaborate with construction teams during site development, roofing, and construction activities to ensure seamless integration of photovoltaic systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician or solar technician with knowledge of photovoltaic system and battery installation.
- Strong understanding of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, schematics, and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E safety standards, and electrical diagnostics techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience working on outdoor construction sites with roofing or other outdoor environments preferred.
- Construction site experience including roofing or general construction is highly desirable.
- Valid electrician license or certification relevant to the field; onshore renewable energy experience is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders safely and comfortably in outdoor conditions.
