American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a combined MS/ICU/IMC unit requiring 2 years of ICU experience and WI or compact RN licensure.

MS/ICU/IMC unit with 20 beds
-
Patient ratios: MS 1:5 days/1:6 nights, IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, Peds 1:3-4

Patient population includes elderly cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, GI, GU, ortho, sepsis, outpatient infusion, and stable pediatric cases
-
RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepi
-
Telemetry monitored remotely by techs, but RNs must be able to read rhythm strips as needed
-
GE ApexPro CH telemetry monitors used
-
RTs available 24/7 with CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U, and Hamilton ventilators on unit
-
Charge nurses take a patient assignment
-
CNAs staff the unit at a ratio of 1 per 8-10 patients
-
12-hour night shifts, generally 1900-0730 or 1800-0630, with block scheduling when possible

Every other weekend and every other holiday required
-
Low-census call rotation possible, with rare cancellations
-
Floating required in-house to ED, UC, and PACU, and interfacility to Park Falls and Weston
-
Cerner EMR used, currently transitioning to Epic
-
Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
ICU experience required; pediatric experience preferred
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
-
Ability to titrate high-acuity medication drips
-
Ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
-
2 professional references required: 1 from a supervisor and 1 from a peer or supervisor

Provide direct patient care across a combined medical-surgical, ICU, and intermediate care unit
-
Collaborate with in-house respiratory therapy team available around the clock
-
Navy scrubs required for RNs
-
Unit orientation includes 1 day of computer-based training and hospital orientation plus 1-2 days of shift orientation
-
All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
-
Candidates who previously worked at the facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
-
Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced rate
