About the Project
We are building the next generation of an Intelligent Building Safety Operating System. We have deep proprietary building-specific knowledge (floor plans, stairwells, exits, elevator behavior, custom procedures) already stored in our LMS, plus APIs with the ability to integrate crime alerts, weather, and emergency resources. We are now integrating xAI Grok (Collections API + Grok 4.1 Fast + tool calling) to create a real-time conversational single proactive agent (Safety Co-Pilot) that delivers instant, personalized, compliance-grade guidance during emergencies. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of AI, safety-critical systems, and enterprise software.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the integration of xAI Grok into our existing platform (Phases 0–2).
- Phase 0: Data cleaning pipeline, meta-tagging
- Phase 1: Conversational agent + basic proactive alerts + compliance login
- Implement RAG pipelines using xAI Collections API with our building-specific corpus.
- Build the Safety Co-Pilot (conversational interface + structured action cards).
- Create tool-calling integrations with our crime, weather, and emergency resource APIs.
- Develop responsive web / PWA frontend for the Co-Pilot (chat + proactive alerts).
- Ensure strict grounding, hallucination guardrails, human-in-the-loop review, and compliance logging.
- Help evolve the system toward a lightweight multi-agent swarm (Phase 2).
- Work closely with our existing front and backend staff.
Requirements
Must Have:
- Strong experience with LLM integration, especially tool calling / function calling and RAG systems.
- Hands-on experience with xAI Grok API, OpenAI, or Anthropic (xAI experience is a big plus).
- Proficiency in JavaScript.js, Python (FastAPI or Flask preferred)
- Experience building production chat interfaces or agentic systems.
- Understanding of safety-critical or compliance-heavy applications (big advantage).
- Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, structured JSON outputs, and evaluation frameworks.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA) or mobile-first responsive design.
- Familiarity with LangChain / LangGraph or similar agent frameworks.
- Familiarity with AWS and related tools

Pay: $99,321.44 - $119,612.91 per year
