JOB SUMMARY
This position performs skilled carpentry trade functions for the College. Duties may include installing, constructing or erecting walls, doors, cabinetry, lighting, ceiling systems, flooring or related systems as directed. Must have extensive knowledge of framing, hanging and finishing drywall, building and/or installing cabinetry as well as performing full-scope projects that require planning and timing of multiple jobs. Duties may also include planning large-scale construction projects as part of a team; identifying and evaluating contractors; applying highly trained construction skills as needed or assigned.
Essential on-site employees are required to report to work during College closures, including inclement weather or emergency situations. This critical role ensures the safety, security, and operational continuity of College facilities, supporting the institution¿s ability to resume normal operations efficiently.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs complex tasks on in-house construction projects specific to area of expertise which may include estimating cost and amount of materials needed, scheduling and execution of all related work, coordination of inspections and as-built documentation.
- Be able to make repairs or improvements as needed.
- Ability to do framing, hanging and finishing of drywall, and build and install custom cabinetry.
- Regular use of work order program to incorporate, schedule, log and follow through on daily projects and activities.
- Monitor inventory and supply levels, procure materials and equipment as necessary or as directed.
- Responsible for proper use and upkeep of assigned college fleet vehicle during the workday.
- An ability to independently recognize and interpret what change may be necessary and assist in the design of the appropriate innovative solutions, typically with minimal supervision.
- Required to follow all relative professional practices, codes, regulations, safety protocols, college rules and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience in area of responsibility; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Work performed is primarily:
