Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong background in children’s based faith formation
- Patient, compassionate and nurturing
- Organically exude the core values of the Catholic faith
- Ability to connect one’s faith to their daily lives in a manner a child can embrace and understand
- Discuss the teachings of Jesus as well as knowledge with prayers, sacrament study, children’s Bible stories and parts of the Mass
- Ability to connect the teaching of the Catholic faith with character education
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overtly supports and acts in accordance with the Academy’s mission
- Prepares an environment to facilitate the learning needs of all children
- Demonstrates planning and preparation for instruction
- Appropriately carries out specific assignments, including but not limited to, service learning, advisory programs, assigned supervision, and other areas as determined by their supervisor
- Honors the confidentiality of school and student information
- Engages in self-reflection and annual development of a growth and renewal plan based on the Characteristics of Professional Excellence
- Develops and implements individual and group lessons
- Establishes a professional relationship with parents
- Monitors student progress
- Maintains and updates academic records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (minimum); Master’s degree (preferred) in High School Education with a focus on theology and/or ministry
- Classroom teaching experience with students in grades 9-12
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
