Essential Duties:
· Ensure merchandise and other supplies are transported safely and securely to-and-from the warehouse, and the trucks are maintained in good working order.
· Promote Goodwill within the community to enhance its public image and to obtain support for the furtherance of our mission. Demonstrate commitment to the highest standards possible in relationships with internal and external associates.
Responsibilities:
· Check vehicle tires, lights, brakes, and oil. Report any problems immediately.
· Remove trash and litter from truck cab. Wash trucks weekly, weather permitting.
· Help load and unload truck.
· Transport merchandise to stores.
· Pickup donations from homes, agencies, and businesses as scheduled.
· Take trash to the landfill.
· Transfer seasonal items to-and-from storage.
· Assist with donors and brokers.
· As a Goodwill representative, always act with courtesy when completing your duties with fellow employees, donors, and others.
· Maintain the dock in a safe and orderly manner.
· Follow all safety rules and Goodwill of South Central Ohio policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Ability to work with all types of people, including those with disabilities. Must be able to follow instructions, have good attendance, and deal with stressful situations.
· Must be able to read and write legibly.
· Work Schedule: This position operates on a five-day work schedule within our seven-day-a-week operation. Employees should expect to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends, and holidays as needed. Weekend work is a regular part of this position, and no position is guaranteed every weekend off.
· Must pass Goodwill-approved drug test. Will be subject to the company’s random drug testing procedures.
· Must pass a Goodwill-approved criminal background check and not appear on any government registries that track abusers or other such offenses.
Education and or Experience:
· Prior experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stoop, bend, reach over your head, climb ladder, and lift 100 pounds with the aid of a truck lift and/or hand dolly.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· Current state drivers’ license, proof of current auto insurance coverage, and reliable transportation required. Ability to maintain coverage under company insurance policy for liability, bondability and other required coverages.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
