The Center for Interventional Pain Management is a well-established, physician-owned Interventional Pain Management and Aesthetic practice led by C. Michel Oliva, MD. We are seeking a dependable, friendly Medical Receptionist who enjoys working with patients, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, managing a multi-line phone system with excellent phone etiquette
- Obtain and scan insurance cards, identification, and required documentation
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments in Athena EMR
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances
- Review and update patient medical records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA regulations
- Maintain office supplies, file documents accurately, and ensure the front desk area remains organized and welcoming
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, pharmacies, and referring providers
- Assist with chart preparation and other front-office duties as needed
Qualifications
- Medical office experience strongly preferred
- Athena EMR experience preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and remain professional in a busy clinical environment
- Comfortable discussing patient financial responsibility and collecting payments
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential
