Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of our medical instruments and environments. This position requires a strong understanding of sterilization processes and adherence to health regulations, particularly in dental and medical settings.
Duties
- Perform sterilization of dental and medical instruments using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including tracking the use of instruments and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in the organization and management of medical records, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
- Collaborate with dental receptionists and other staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Operate various systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and 3D scanners as needed for efficient workflow.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on sterilization equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Stay informed about current best practices in sterilization techniques, particularly in prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in sterilization or related field is preferred.
- Experience working in a dental or medical environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with X-Ray procedures and equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient information is essential.
- Previous experience with medical records management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using various software systems related to dental practices, including Epic and Eaglesoft.
