Mission Surgery Center – Fremont, CA
Mission Surgery Center is seeking an experienced part-time/per diem Surgical Technologist to support our growing orthopedic surgery program. This role is ideal for a motivated, reliable surgical tech with experience in knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, and orthopedic joint replacement procedures.
We are a focused outpatient surgery center with a professional, team-oriented environment and state-of-the-art operating rooms.
Responsibilities include:
Assist surgeons during orthopedic procedures, including knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, and total joint/replacement cases.
Prepare and maintain the sterile field.
Ensure instruments, implants, equipment, and supplies are ready before each case.
Anticipate surgeon and case needs during procedures.
Assist with room turnover and proper handling of instruments after cases.
Work closely with nurses, anesthesia, surgeons, and facility leadership to maintain efficient OR flow.
Follow infection control, sterile processing, and ASC safety standards.
Qualifications:
Prior surgical tech experience required.
Orthopedic experience strongly preferred, especially with arthroscopy and joint replacement cases.
Knowledge of orthopedic instruments, implants, scopes, shavers, towers, and basic OR equipment.
Strong attention to detail and sterile technique.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, professional, and flexible with scheduling.
BLS preferred.
Surgical Technologist certification preferred but not required, depending on experience.
Schedule:
Part-time / per diem.
Flexible weekday availability.
No hospital call.
No nights.
Ideal candidate:
We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast-paced ASC environment. Orthopedic experience is highly valued, especially with knee scopes, shoulder scopes, ACL/meniscus cases, rotator cuff repairs, and joint replacement procedures.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly/per diem rate based on experience.
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
