Job Description
Jake Electric is looking to hire an experienced Residential Electrical Service Technician to join our team. This position will primarily focus on residential service calls, troubleshooting power issues, diagnosing electrical problems, and making repairs in customers’ homes.
The ideal candidate should have strong residential electrical experience, be comfortable working directly with homeowners, and be able to troubleshoot and complete work professionally and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot residential electrical issues, including power loss, faulty circuits, breakers, outlets, switches, lighting issues, and other service-related problems.
- Diagnose electrical problems and perform repairs safely and correctly.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers while on service calls.
- Complete residential electrical installations and repairs as needed.
- Help with additional electrical projects when not on service calls, including:
- Main electrical panel installations and upgrades
- EV charger installations
- Backup generator inlet/interlock installations
- Ceiling fan installations
- Recessed lighting
- Interior and exterior lighting
- Outlets, plugs, switches, GFCIs, dimmers, and general residential electrical work
Requirements
- Minimum of a few years of residential electrical experience required.
- Preferably 4+ years of hands-on electrical experience.
- Must be able to troubleshoot residential power issues confidently.
- Must have own basic hand tools.
- Some power tools are preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Own work truck is preferred, but not required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and motivated.
- Must be personable and able to communicate well with customers.
- Must be able to work safely, cleanly, and professionally in occupied homes.
- Must be able to follow directions and complete work efficiently.

Compensation
Pay will depend on experience, skill level, tools, transportation, and ability to work independently.
Pay: $29.24 - $35.21 per hour
