American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry position in Dubuque, IA, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience and prior travel contract history.

Float pool position covering General Med/Surg, Rehab, and Behavioral Health units in a 63-bed setting
-
Patient population includes Med/Surg, Rehab, and Behavioral Health with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio

Administers drips including Insulin and Heparin
-
EMR: Epic (experience required)
-
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities

Holiday rotation required — must work 1-2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day

Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
-
Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification highly preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Surg Telemetry required

Epic EMR experience required

Experience administering Heparin and Insulin drips required

Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 12 months

Valid driver's license required

Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 2 years preferred

Scrub color requirement: Pewter Grey

Candidates must reside more than 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

First-time travelers will not be considered — at least one completed travel contract within the past 12 months is required
