Mortgage One Funding is seeking a motivated and driven Mortgage Loan Officer Trainee to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to break into the mortgage industry, gain hands-on experience, and build a long-term career in lending.
What This Role Is
As a Mortgage Loan Officer Trainee, you will work closely with experienced loan officers and leadership to learn the full mortgage process—from initial client contact to closing. This role does include making outbound calls to clients who have already inquired about mortgage products or refinancing options. No cold calling random lists—these are warm leads.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to prospective clients who have expressed interest in mortgage products
- Qualify borrowers by gathering basic financial and property information
- Educate clients on mortgage options and next steps in the process
- Set appointments and transfer qualified clients to licensed Loan Officers
- Maintain accurate notes and follow-ups in the CRM
- Learn loan products, guidelines, and compliance requirements
- Work collaboratively with processors, loan officers, and management
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication skills and confidence on the phone
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and coachable mindset
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Ability to handle high call volume and follow up consistently
- Sales, call center, or customer service experience is a plus (not required)
- Interest in becoming a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer
