Responsibilities
- Prepare food items including slicing meats, cheeses, and other deli products with attention to quality and safety standards
- Serve customers efficiently at the deli counter, offering product recommendations and upselling when appropriate
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas, adhering to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Restock shelves, display cases, and workstations to ensure fresh products are available for customers
- Assist with food preparation tasks like wrapping, labeling, and packaging deli items for sale
- Support team members by bussing tables or cleaning workspaces during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not required; culinary experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, grocery store transactions, and sales upselling
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed for food prep and stocking tasks
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a café or grocery store is beneficial
