Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is under the direct supervision of the ALF Administrator. The main responsibility of the position is the supervision of all direct care staff, enforcing all rules and procedures and supervision of all services given to residents. Supervision of Self administration of medication, Service Logs, Incident Reports, Concern Forms, Body Wellness Forms and any other required forms.
Daily Tasks:
- Supervise, recruit, hire, train, and terminate all direct care staff with the Administrators assistance and approval.
- Works closely with the resident’s pharmacies, physicians, and third-party providers
- Schedules and organizes all residents’ doctors’ appointments.
- Makes sure all direct care staff’s documentation is accurately completed and all services are delivered timely and effectively.
- Visits residents in their unit ensuring all statues and procedures are being followed, residents are satisfied with services, and arrange for any services resident may need.
- Makes sure residents are being weighed every 6 months or as needed and maintains documentation on weights and notifies physicians as required.
- Confers with doctors and relatives about the care and progress of each resident. Notifies family members and physicians of any developments. Reports Situations to the Administrator.
- Transfers residents to other facilities that are no longer properly placed.
- Performs assessments on new residents with Administrators approval.
- Assesses new admissions 1823 and medication sheets and request any necessary clarifications and/or orders needed to comply with AHCA/Facility regulations
- Reports to dietary department resident specific dietary needs per doctor orders
- Sets up Labs, Home Health, and any other third-party services needed for residents per doctor orders.
- Keeps resident Medical files updated at all times.
- Assist with emergency and evacuation functions, Conducts drills.
- Attends all staff meetings and trainings.
- Required to report to work for AHCA visits.
- Assist Administrator with administrative duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medication Technician Certificate.
- Management/Supervisor Experience.
- Knowledge of ALF state regulations.
- Cheerful, friendly personality.
- Ability to deal well with elderly residents.
