Responsibilities
- Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding to keep turf healthy and vibrant.
- Maintain landscaped areas by pruning trees and shrubs, trimming hedges, planting flowers, and removing weeds.
- Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with hardscape projects including the installation and repair of pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other structures.
- Support irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal watering practices.
- Conduct snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure longevity and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members on larger construction or landscape projects requiring excavators or other heavy equipment.
- Provide tree care services including trimming, pruning, planting new trees, or removing hazardous ones when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with power tools or heavy machinery in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience handling power tools and landscaping equipment.
- Prior experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance or gardening is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant care techniques.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners as well as larger machinery like excavators or snow plows when required.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and repair processes.
- Strong understanding of landscape construction techniques including hardscape installation.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work for extended periods in different weather conditions; capable of lifting heavy objects safely.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality standards.
