Position Summary
Lake Norman Christian School is seeking a passionate and qualified Middle School English Teacher who will inspire students to grow as readers, writers, thinkers, and followers of Christ. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in instruction, foster a love for literature and writing, and intentionally disciple students through authentic Christian leadership and mentorship.
Essential ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach English Language Arts courses for students in grades 6–8.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in reading, literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication.
- Integrate technology and innovative instructional practices to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student achievement.
Spiritual Responsibilities
- Integrate biblical truth and a Christian worldview throughout the curriculum and classroom discussions.
- Model Christ-like character and demonstrate spiritual maturity in relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Lead students in prayer, devotion, and spiritual growth opportunities.
- Support the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of Lake Norman Christian School.
- Encourage students to develop their God-given gifts and pursue excellence for God's glory.
Community Responsibilities
- Build positive partnerships with parents and guardians.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, chapel services, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to a positive, Christ-centered school culture.
QualificationsRequired
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Bible-believing church.
- Agreement with the mission, values, and Statement of Faith of Lake Norman Christian School.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Education, English, or related field.
- Previous middle school teaching experience.
- Experience in Christian education.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate faith and learning effectively.
