Job Summary
Provide high-quality swim instruction and coaching to members and their families in both recreational and competitive settings. Create a fun and enjoyable learning environment while staying goal-focused, helping swimmers build confidence, improve technique, and achieve their individual goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Instruct Group and Private Swim Lessons.

Maintain attendance records for swim lessons.

Complete report cards upon group lesson completion.

Assure all lesson participants are safe and taught correctly.

Maintain up-to-date Swim Instructor certifications.

Charge lesson participants as required and maintain accurate records of billing.

Lead swim practices for the Arizona Country Club Recreational Swim Team during the Fall and Spring seasons.

Develop and implement practice plans that improve swimmers' technique, endurance, confidence, and overall performance.

Attend and coach swimmers at bi-weekly swim meets during the Fall and Spring seasons.

Provide constructive feedback to swimmers while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive learning environment.

Examine injured people and administer first aid when required using training and medical supplies and equipment provided.

Teach participants in swimming or other recreational activities and provide safety precaution information as directed by your manager.

Notify members and visitors in recreational areas of inclement weather and pool conditions when required.

Inspect pool areas and equipment for cleanliness and safety.

Support country club as needed.

Special projects assigned by management.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while monitoring recreational areas, have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). Must be able to swim. Performing movements which require considerable movement of arms, legs and moving entire body including swimming, running, and providing resuscitation. Must be able to work outdoors in various temperatures, work directly with the public performing services. Job requires exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals as well as exposure to all weather conditions. Must be able to work in an open area with other employees and visitors.
Experience & Education
High-school graduate or GED equivalent required. Must have a valid lifeguard certification. Must be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED training. Must be WSI Certified or Certified in another nationally recognized swim instructor program. Must Be Safety For Swim Coaches Certified or willing to get certified. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in a country club setting preferred. Must have experience with first aid, lifeguarding and customer contact.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person with attention to comprehending information. Excellent oral communication skills as well as understanding written communication in work related documents. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others. Must enjoy coaching/teaching children and adults.

Hours: Must be available between 4pm-6pm Monday-Thursday beginning September 1st. Private Swim Lessons Scheduled based on demand.
Compensation: Base pay + commission
