EHS Specialist (Relocation Assistance)
EHS Specialist Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field.
· 4+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple compliance priorities.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence safety culture and drive accountability.
· Flexibility to work any shift, travel as required, and support overtime needs.
· Current OSHA, RCRA, and DOT certifications preferred.
· Experience with global EHS compliance programs, including U.S. and European regulatory standards, preferred.
· Auditor certification is a plus.
· Ability to successfully complete medical, vision, hearing, and color perception assessments.
· Experience either turning around underperforming EHS programs or successfully maintaining high-performing safety programs is highly desirable.
· Demonstrated passion for environmental, health, and safety excellence.
EHS Specialist Job Responsibilities
· Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of company-wide Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across U.S. operations.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate EHS regulations and standards.
· Conduct routine and unannounced facility inspections, audits, and assessments to identify hazards, verify compliance, and drive corrective actions.
· Monitor environmental performance metrics, emissions data, wastewater programs, and other key compliance indicators.
· Manage hazardous waste programs and ensure regulatory compliance related to storage, handling, labeling, transportation, and disposal.
· Partner with site leadership to investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
· Develop and deliver EHS training programs, safety meetings, and new employee orientation sessions.
· Support workers’ compensation administration, return-to-work processes, and injury management programs.
· Maintain regulatory records, permits, reports, and documentation required by OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other governing agencies.
· Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Promote employee engagement and accountability in support of a strong safety culture.
· Provide hands-on support on the manufacturing floor, including conducting inspections, risk assessments, and coaching employees on safe work practices.
· Travel to company locations as needed to support EHS initiatives, audits, training, and compliance activities.
