The Vinyl Assistant supports the Vinyl Department by preparing, cutting, weeding, transferring, and applying vinyl graphics for a variety of sign products. This position assists with production, staging, quality control, and material preparation while learning sign manufacturing processes and maintaining company quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with preparing vinyl graphics for production and installation.

Weed, mask, transfer, and apply vinyl graphics to a variety of sign products and substrates.

Measure, align, and prepare layouts to ensure accurate placement and quality workmanship.

Operate vinyl cutters, plotters, laminators, and other department equipment after receiving appropriate training.

Prepare and stage materials, graphics, and completed work for production and installation.
-
Assist with assembling color boards, sign components, and related production materials.

Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.

Assist with inventory organization and material handling as needed.

Follow production schedules and communicate progress or production concerns to the supervisor.

Work collaboratively with fabrication, paint, design, installation, and production teams.

Adheres to established work schedules and break periods, maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality to support departmental operations and business needs.

Attend department and company meetings as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous experience in vinyl application, sign manufacturing, graphics production, printing, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Ability to accurately read measuring devices and follow production specifications.

Basic computer skills and the ability to learn production software and equipment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality and accurately records work time in accordance with company policy.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret work orders, production drawings, safety procedures, and operating instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
