American Traveler is hiring a MICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of Medical ICU experience and Epic proficiency.
-
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting within a hospital environment
-
Patient ratios of 1:1-2
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Treats patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
-
Utilizes continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients
-
Equipment includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, GE ventilators, and in-room boom lifts
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission

Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)

Epic charting experience required

Proficient in IV starts
-
Experience with telemetry and ventilator management required
-
Skilled in continuous IV sedation and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation/management

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
-
2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable for the second reference; no coworker references accepted

Provide direct care to critically ill patients with complex multisystem conditions in the MICU
-
Manage ventilated patients and respond to cardiac emergencies including dysrhythmia interpretation and treatment
-
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines

Candidates located outside Ohio but within driving distance will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location soon after booking; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible to return as travelers after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
-
Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel assignments

RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
