Hendersonville Pediatrics is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care team as a Pediatric Triage & Advice Nurse. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted resource for families—offering expert guidance, assessing symptoms, and helping caregivers navigate everything from the common cold to high-fever panic. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive timely, accurate, and family-centered care.

Provide telephone triage using established clinical protocols to assess patient needs and determine the appropriate level of care.
-
Offer evidencebased health education and home care instructions to parents and caregivers.

Evaluate symptoms, prioritize urgency, and direct patients to appropriate care pathways (inoffice visit, urgent care, emergency department, or home care).

Schedule acute inoffice sick visit if appropriate.

Communicate with providers and staff to support care coordination and followup.

Accurately document all triage interactions and clinical communications in the electronic health record (EHR).

Assist with care coordination tasks such as followup calls, lab result reviews, school notes, and patient education.

Assist with prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic testing.

Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Active RN license in the state of North Carolina.

Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience; triage or advice line experience preferred.

Excellent clinical judgment and strong written and oral communication skills, especially in highpressure situations.

Comfortable using EHR systems and clinical decision support tools.

BLS certification required; PALS preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
