We are seeking an experienced Alarm & Security Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining alarm, surveillance, and low-voltage systems in both residential and commercial settings.
Summary
As a Security Alarm Technician, you will install, service, and troubleshoot electrical security and surveillance systems for our clients. You will report to the Field Service Supervisor and collaborate with facilities teams to ensure reliable burglar alarm, CCTV, and access control solutions. Leveraging core skills in low-voltage systems, electrical security installations, and customer service, you will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate effectively with customers to minimize downtime and protect property. Your premium and relevant skills in field service, system design, and remote access will support high-quality, end-to-end security deployments.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and service electrical security systems including burglar alarms, CCTV, access control, and low-voltage wiring.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using tools and diagnostic methods; perform preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
- Configure and integrate security components, sensors, and remote access software; ensure system reliability and proper alarming, monitoring, and reporting.
- Collaborate with customers to assess security needs, provide clear demonstrations, and deliver professional service with strong documentation.
- Adhere to safety standards, NEC guidelines, and industry best practices; maintain clean, organized work area and tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an alarm and security technician or field service technician for electrical security systems
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, low-voltage cabling, fire alarm, and physical security system installation and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with field service work, hand tools, power tools, and basic computer networking; remote access software familiarity preferred
- Customer service orientation with ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain systems on-site; clean workspace and preventive maintenance practices
- Familiarity with NEC, telecommunications concepts, and system design principles; mechanical aptitude and equipment repair skills
- Valid certifications or training in alarm systems, security installation, and relevant electrical qualifications are a plus
