Responsibilities
- Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation), state transportation regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols during daily operations.
- Drive defensively at all times to ensure the safety of yourself, fellow team members, pedestrians, and other drivers on the road.
- Manage municipal and commercial waste collection routes efficiently while adhering to schedule deadlines.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, route completion, and any incidents or hazards encountered during service.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate pickups, report issues, or address route adjustments promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on solid waste management or related fields such as delivery driving or dump truck operation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems related to garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, front-end loaders, and heavy-duty equipment.
- Prior experience operating various types of trucks including front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
