Scope of Responsibility
Registered Nurses provide nursing care to a group of patients for a designated time frame and will routinely lead team of care providers.
Responsible to the Director of Emergency Services
- Associates Degree Nurse or Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree
Training and Experience
- Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Office of the Attorney General CA/CP-SANE Currency of Practice Certification obtained within 1 year of hire
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider required
- Successful completion of at least one Advanced Assessment Skills Course-SANE-A, NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC within 1 year of hire
- Completes appropriate orientation to the SANE Program care areas
- Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and the use of a compassionate and victim sensitive approach in the care of a sexual abuse/assault patient
- Acts as a clinical preceptor for new SANEs
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current insurance coverage
