Copper State Bolt & Nut Co is seeking a Manual Mill Machine Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual milling machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This position requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual milling machines to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Determine proper feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining methods.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform drilling, boring, facing, slotting, tapping, and other machining operations.
- Maintain dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality policies.
- Complete required production and inspection documentation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience operating manual milling machines in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T principles.
- Knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
- Basic shop mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and trigonometry.
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manual lathes, grinders, or CNC equipment.
- Machinist trade school certification or apprenticeship training.
- Experience with CAD/CAM or manufacturing software.
- Knowledge of tooling design and fixture setup.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as required.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery and metalworking equipment.

2nd Shift: M-F, 2:15-10:45pm
