Job Summary: Per Diem Positions (Only)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients, ensuring proper positioning and technique for optimal image quality.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging procedures based on patient needs.
- Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Document patient information, imaging results, and maintain accurate records in accordance with medical standards.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
- Assist in emergency situations within the ASC, providing timely imaging support as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques, including PET scans and nuclear medicine.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Valid state licensure as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and emergency medicine practices.
- Experience with medical imaging equipment, particularly X-Ray machines; familiarity with C-Arms is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, particularly within an ER setting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
