Job Summary
Level UP Staff is looking to hire a Director of Nursing.
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our facility. This position requires a dynamic individual with extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. The Director of Nursing will manage nursing operations, develop care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while fostering a culture of excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
- Oversee the management of resident care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet individual needs.
- Conduct regular documentation reviews to maintain accuracy in medical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
- Manage staffing schedules and shift management to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting professional development and leadership skills.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient documentation and management of patient information.
- Stay informed about advancements in nursing practices, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology knowledge, and Medicare regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, home health, hospice care, or acute care settings.
- Strong management skills with a focus on nurse management and supervising experience.
- In-depth knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and care plan development.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for effective documentation and record-keeping.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology knowledge, HIPAA compliance, and documentation review processes.
- Ability to effectively manage shifts while ensuring high-quality patient care standards are met.
