Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, exceptional patient service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical office operations. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records. Your role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic workflows and delivering a positive experience for patients and staff alike. Work days are Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30PM
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Allscripts EHR and PM.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and pre-authorization procedures.
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing tasks, ensuring accuracy in documentation review.
- Manage incoming calls using multi-line phone systems while maintaining proper phone etiquette.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding health information management.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including updating demographic information and medical history documentation.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is strongly preferred, especially within clinics or dental offices.
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems is essential.
- Familiarity with insurance verification procedures and Medicare guidelines is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing proficiency (10 key typing).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and clinic management tasks.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
