Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CMM Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will develop and execute precise coordinate measuring machine (CMM) programs to ensure products meet stringent quality standards. Your expertise in programming, calibration, and inspection will directly contribute to maintaining the highest levels of quality assurance within our production processes. Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and optimize CMM programs using Calypso software to accurately measure complex components and assemblies.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and blueprints to establish measurement criteria aligned with engineering specifications.
- Operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM), height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to perform dimensional inspections.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ASME codes & standards, and internal quality protocols during inspection processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot measurement issues and implement process improvements for enhanced quality assurance.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, calibration logs, and quality documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Conduct routine calibration of measurement tools and coordinate calibration schedules to ensure ongoing accuracy of all precision instruments.
Skills
- Extensive experience programming CMMs using Calypso software within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of quality standards including AS9100, ISO 9001, and ASME codes & standards.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics with a solid grasp of GD&T principles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, tooling setup, CNC operations, and technical drawing interpretation.
- Ability to perform dimensional inspections using height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measurement tools.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with familiarity in CAD software like SolidWorks for interpreting design models.
- Excellent mathematical skills for calculating measurements and tolerances accurately.
- Strong technical proficiency in using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), Schematics, and other precision instruments for quality assurance purposes.
- Experience working within aerospace or regulated industries emphasizing strict adherence to quality control protocols.
