Key Responsibilities of the MRI Technologist
- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently while following established safety procedures
- Screen patients for MRI safety risks, including implants and medical conditions
- Administer contrast agents when required and monitor patients throughout procedures
- Review images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before submission for interpretation
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout the imaging process
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to support effective patient outcomes
Requirements of the MRI Technologist Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent MRI Technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of MRI procedures, imaging protocols, and patient safety standards
- Excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and patient care abilities
