Job Duties
The Lead Deputy Clerk in the Customer Support Unit is an experienced professional with a high degree of knowledge in court operations and a recognized expert in Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court procedures. This position acts as a leader/trainer for Deputy Clerks, functions with a high degree of autonomy, and may manage a specific assignment or task. Requires independent problem-solving requiring analysis of unique issues/problems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties for the Customer Support Deputy Clerk Team Lead include but are not limited to assisting customers at the front counter, on the telephone, and by email; assessing and receipting court costs; processing correspondence; processing appeals; demonstrating a thorough knowledge of current statutes, legal practices, and the Court’s policies and procedures and applying them consistently; demonstrating efficient case processing methods; completing all work accurately and legibly; following through on tasks and completing assignments in a timely manner; ensuring case information is accurately entered into the computer system; ensuring proper execution of all court documents; maintaining discretion and confidentiality of all court records and proceedings; ensuring proper execution of all court documents; maintaining discretion and confidentiality of all court records and proceedings; assisting with the training of Deputy Clerks and reporting to supervisors and/or the Clerk on their progress; in the absence of the supervisor, directing day-to-day operations of the unit; assuming additional responsibilities as needed or required by management; answering or troubleshooting issues that may arise in the unit; and preparing reports or other special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
The most competitive candidates will possess:
Must have deputy clerk experience in a district court, preferably from a Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Qualified applicants must be able to meet frequent deadlines, be detail-oriented and organized, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, manage changing priorities, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be committed to providing excellent customer service to the public and interfacing agencies, and lead by example.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office and courtroom setting. Duties require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and operate standard office equipment. The employee may be required to lift or carry items weighing up to approximately 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
