Twin Valley Middle High School, located in the beautiful mountains of southern Vermont, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time (1.0 FTE) Health Teacher/Athletic Director to join our caring and committed team. This unique position combines 0.5 FTE Health Teacher responsibilities with 0.5 FTE Athletic Director duties, providing an opportunity to positively impact students both in the classroom and through athletics.The Health Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-based health education to middle and high school students, fostering their knowledge and skills in areas such as physical wellness, mental health, nutrition, substance abuse prevention, healthy relationships, and personal safety. The successful candidate will create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and personal responsibility while helping students develop lifelong healthy habits. The Health Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with families, and contribute positively to the school community.As Athletic Director, the successful candidate will oversee and coordinate all athletic programs for the Twin Valley Unified School District, including scheduling, budget oversight, transportation and game logistics, supervision and evaluation of coaches, management of athletic facilities and equipment, and compliance with Vermont Principals' Association (VPA) and district policies.
The Athletic Director will work to build upon and carry forward Twin Valley Middle High School's proud tradition of championship-level athletics by promoting excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and school pride across all programs. Additional responsibilities include supporting student-athlete academic eligibility, coordinating communication with families and the community, developing athletic schedules, supervising athletic events, assisting with the hiring and mentoring of coaches, and fostering a culture that values competitive success, character development, leadership, and positive student participation.The ideal candidate will be a collaborative educator and leader who is passionate about student wellness, committed to developing successful athletic programs, and dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
