Newton Wellesley Psychiatry is a private outpatient behavioral health practice serving adult patients. Our practice includes 19 clinicians and a collaborative administrative team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant with a focus on credentialing. This position is part of a shared administrative team; front desk coverage, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing support are shared among administrative staff. The position also has dedicated responsibility for assisting with provider credentialing and payer enrollment.
Front Desk and Administrative Responsibilities
- ·Share front desk coverage with the administrative team, including greeting patients, answering phones, and routing messages.
- Schedule patient appointments; manage cancellations, changes, and related patient communication.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Collect copays and support accurate patient registration.
- Assist with billing and insurance workflows, including eligibility verification and claim-related follow-up.
- Enter and maintain accurate information in Epic EHR and Intergy billing management system.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and administrative team members to support efficient daily operations.
Credentialing Responsibilities
- Coordinate provider credentialing, recredentialing, and payer enrollment.
- Maintain complete and current provider credentialing files, including licenses, malpractice coverage, CAQH profiles, and supporting documentation.
- Track application status, payer effective dates, credentialing deadlines, and renewal requirements.
- Communicate with payers and providers to obtain information, follow up on applications, and address credentialing-related issues.
- Coordinate with billing staff to help ensure accurate provider enrollment information for claims processing.
Qualifications
- At least 1–2 years of administrative experience in a medical or behavioral health practice required.
- Experience with medical billing and insurance workflows, including eligibility verification, copays, deductibles, and claims-related information.
- Experience scheduling patients in an EHR or practice management system required -- Epic experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with credentialing processes, including CAQH, payer applications, provider enrollment, and recredentialing, preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
