We're looking for fellow vegans, vegetarians, and people transitioning to join our dedicated team in Tempe, Arizona: LeafSide is a growing company, offering innovative 100% whole-food plant-based (WFPB) meal packs. Our mission is to make healthy, nutritionally-optimal, whole-food plant-based eating so easy and enjoyable, that it becomes a societal norm.
Work experience that suits this role includes restaurant work (line cook, prep cook, barista), food service (catering, kitchen prep), food manufacturing and food production, or general light manufacturing (assembly) work. Please see the Qualifications list below for more details.
Salary & Benefits
- This is a non-customer-facing, full-time role on a predictable schedule, Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours/week, 7am to 3:30pm.
- There is an initial trial period of up to 8 weeks. Pay is $17.00 per hour during the trial. Assuming good mutual fit, after the trial period pay increases to $18.50 per hour, and you'll be eligible for benefits (health insurance, vision & dental insurance, PTO).
- Promotions, cross-training, and bonuses, along with more responsibilities, are offered as soon as you're ready, based on performance, your skills development, and your initiative and drive.
- Total Time Off per year is up to 4 weeks (8 paid holidays, 5 sick days, and 7 vacation days) with sick and vacation time usable interchangeably, and accrued per fully employed pay period.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance plans are offered, with full or partial coverage depending on plan chosen.
- Monthly team events: i.e. volunteering at local animal sanctuaries, community gardens; pizza parties; birthday treats.

Qualifications
- Food service or similar food production or assembly experience, emphasizing accurate and speedy execution, and cleanliness.
- Those with line cook, kitchen prep, catering, prep cook, barista, restaurant, or food manufacturing experience are all welcomed and encouraged to apply!
- Strong attention to detail: e.g. reading and following instructions carefully.
- You enjoy working with your hands in general, and you have above-average hand-eye coordination.
- Your stamina should be above-average: you'll be on your feet doing light movements, for much of the time at work (with breaks).
- Self-motivated & proactive approach: You ask questions and do whatever is needed to ensure work you’re proud of, and that our clients can rely on.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment: we move and change a lot faster than traditional food service companies, and expect all teammates to adopt the growth-mindset.
- Interest in plant-based nutrition; it’s great if you’re a health nut or rapidly becoming one, and (want to) know how powerful whole foods plant-based nutrition can be, in maximizing health and performance.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Meal prep production: Prepare ingredients and follow detailed recipe cards to assemble meal packs in large batches.
- Cleaning of tools, food production line, food manufacturing, & food assembler spaces.
- Cross-training and other responsibilities: Depends on your background, motivation, and commitment to growth. :-) We have a clear structure of increasing skills, responsibilities, and pay for teammates who prove themselves and want to grow.
