Position Summary
MAD Concepts Group is a fast-paced, growing restaurant group where new locations, concepts, and systems come online regularly. We're looking for someone who thrives in that environment and scales with the business. Our office is tight-knit — every role works closely with leadership and across departments, regardless of title.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, the GL Accountant supports day-to-day GL activity across our restaurant entities and partners with the accounting team to deliver a clean, timely month-end close. You'll work closely with operations leadership, capturing what's happening in the restaurants through accurate financials.
Key Responsibilities
· Contribute to the monthly close across all entities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
· Tie out sales from POS to bank deposits and merchant settlements across locations.
· Record third-party delivery activity (DoorDash, Uber Eats) and match payouts to settlement reports.
· Review bank activity weekly and complete monthly bank reconciliations across operating accounts and entities.
· Record inter-company transactions between operating entities and the management company as they occur, keeping balances in agreement on a rolling basis.
· Analyze unit-level variances, identify key drivers and flag anomalies, and communicate findings to the team.
· Keep account support organized year-round to make external reporting and audits straightforward.
· Cross-train across the accounting team and step in wherever coverage is needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant GL accounting experience, or 5+ years of equivalent GL accounting experience in lieu of a degree — ideally in a high-volume, multi-unit or multi-entity environment.
· Experience with Toast (or a comparable POS) and how its reports tie to the GL.
· Familiarity with credit card processor reporting and third-party delivery settlements.
· Experience with ERP systems; QuickBooks Online a plus.
· Intermediate Excel proficiency; able to build, adapt, and troubleshoot workbooks independently.
· Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture.
