Overview
We are a small town independent family owned auto parts store looking for a Parts Counter Sales Representative. The candidate we are searching for will enjoy helping customers, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and will be committed to join a team that takes pride in providing top quality parts and service to the local community.
Duties
- Greet customers and identify their needs through active listening and effective communication
- Assist customers in selecting automotive parts, accessories, tools, and related products with product knowledge and enthusiasm
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions via phone or in person, and delivering to local repair shops
- Manage inventory control by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and ensuring product availability
- Process customer sales transactions accurately while handling cash, checks, credit card payments, and receipts professionally.
- Protect profit margins and upsell products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, organized store and ensure all products are properly labeled and stored according to safety standards
- Support order fulfillment by accurately recieving the daily restock order
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in retail auto part sales or dealership environments is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, automotive repair, and automotive service is highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills combined with ability to build rapport with customers
- Familiarity with inventory management systems such as PartsWatch or similar platforms
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, cash handling, and phone etiquette to ensure smooth transactions and customer interactions
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves and maintaining the sales area efficiently
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
- Dealership experience or background in automotive repair/service will be considered an asset

Pay: $13.00 - $19.00 per hour
