Job Overview
Apartment complex located in Piscataway, NJ is seeking a Handyman/Maintenance person to aid our existing maintenance team with apartment turnovers. This position is for full time hours for the express job of preparing vacant apartments for new tenants, with the opportunity to extend employment as new vacancies occur. The ideal candidate should have experience with apartment turnovers including primarily painting, and some minor repairs spackling.
Responsibilities
- Painting, apartment preparation, refurbishing, cleaning, and waste removal
- Complete daily work orders in vacant apartments in a timely and professional manner
- Perform and work together with contractors and all employees
- Follow company safety standards and maintenance procedures
- Communicate professionally with management and provide updates when needed
Skills
- Prior residential, apartment, or building maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general repair work preferred
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial roles within residential or commercial environments
- Ability to perform residential painting and basic facilities maintenance tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple responsibilities
- Dependable, professional, and responsive approach to work
- Reliable transportation required
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
