Job Title: Working Superintendent / Traveling Field Project Manager (Waterworks)
Compensation: Starts at $40.00 / Hour + Overtime (Negotiable based on experience)

Location: Based in Houston, TX (Requires extensive travel across Texas and adjacent states, away for weeks at a time).
Position Overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, highly skilled Working Superintendent / Field Project Manager to lead specialized waterworks and civil utility infrastructure projects. This role requires a hybrid professional who is equally comfortable operating equipment and fitting pipe in a trench as they are reading blueprints and building digital bids in Excel. You will have full ownership of your job sites, including managing a small crew, tracking expenses, and ensuring strict adherence to military and municipal deadlines.
Core Responsibilities
- Pipefitting & Utility Infrastructure: Oversee and perform the removal and installation of diverse piping systems, including Ductile Iron, PVC, RCP, and Carbon Steel.
- Appurtenance & Valve Installation: Safely install and replace critical AWWA valves (Butterfly, Gate, Check, and Control valves).
- Civil Work & Excavation: Direct and execute earthwork, including deep trenching and excavation for below-grade piping, fittings, and structures.
- Storage Tanks & Structural Demolition: Perform demolition of existing structures and concrete, with specific experience working on elevated and ground storage tanks.
- Concrete & Finishing: Form, pour, and finish concrete for equipment pads, splash pads, and driveways.
- Project Management & Estimating: Read complex civil engineering plans, perform construction material takeoffs, and accurately quote/bid jobs. Manage project schedules rigorously to hit tight deadlines.
- Administration & Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Excel) to manage job quoting, budgeting, and field expense reporting.
Job Requirements
- Logistics: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, a reliable truck, and the demonstrated ability to safely haul/pull a company utility trailer.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to pass a rigorous federal background check to gain unescorted access to U.S. military bases and other highly secure areas.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across Texas and other states for weeks at a time (all travel expenses covered via company card).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a 2-3 person crew effectively while maintaining safety protocols.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
