The Computer Help Desk Technician provides first-level technical support to government users in a fast-paced operational environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end-user devices and peripherals, maintaining IT asset inventory, and delivering responsive customer service. The ideal candidate combines strong technical ability with professionalism, attention to detail, and a service-focused approach.

Provide first-line technical support to end users and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner

Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware, software, and related peripherals

Support printers, VoIP telephones, and general office IT equipment

Assist users with connectivity issues and basic network-related troubleshooting

Track, assign, and maintain IT asset inventory in accordance with established procedures

Document support activity and maintain accurate records in ticketing and asset management systems

Deliver user guidance and basic training on systems, software, and equipment as needed

Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with program and organizational requirements
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification
-
Active Secret clearance (or higher)

At least 3 years of experience in computer support, help desk, or IT customer service

Experience supporting computer hardware, software, and printer maintenance

Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Technical knowledge of desktop support, standard business software, and basic networking
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with government IT asset management systems

CompTIA A+ or other relevant technical certifications

Experience supporting government customers or working in a government environment
